Have You Herd...

Rhema is a beautiful black & white paint Tennessee Walker.  Rhema came to us as a replacement for one of our beloved horses that passed on.  Besides having to fill her shoes, Rhema had to deal with his own issues of fear, rejection and abandonment. Having once been in the showring and use to the finer things in life - Rhema's life changed with the economy and the end of the road for him at the auction house. Our beautiful Rhema now teaches girls about overcoming insecurities and fear with the help of a GREAT BIG GOD! All the girls love his sweet disposition and personality. Rhema's name means "a now word from God."

Hope's name is derived from England and it means "Trust and faith".  Hope is our most respected mare.  Although she is not alpha status she is favored by all in the herd.  She gets along with everyone and is high spirited.  She tends to be right brained a bit but is easily brought back to the left.  We can always count on Hope to help us add a new member to the herd with as little pain as possible for the newcomer as well as the whole horse family!

Rain is a Spotted Saddle mare & the newest addition to our herd.  She is young and vivacious and just a bit bossy.  She has great leadership qualities but is too young to know what to do with all the power -- therefore, we have to work with her to make sure all her skills are honed and directed to help her reach her full potential.  Rain is the only one who has not enjoyed the pond and swimming -- YET!! *hit tab read more 

Rain's name comes from America and it means:  Blessings from above.

We can always count on Caesar to be the one to help all our girls.  He is not an alpha and makes sure that all the girls are omega in his eyes -- he has to win all the games no matter what.  BUT -- Caesar sure does teach girls how to ride and he is certainly NOT a push over.  Everyone loves this beautiful, black Tennessee Walker. His name stands for "long haired" -- he does try to keep his mane that way!

Kyros is the alpha of the herd.  His is the strong, silent type.  One of the most breathtaking scenes on this ranch is to see Kyros standing tall and strong against the backdrop of Third Hill Mountain.  Kyros is named for "a God moment" in time, his name also means leader & protector!  Using Kyros with girls teaches that even leaders have hidden fears and if left untouched could be more of a problem with life and relationships than one could handle.

Dane is the most flamboyant of the whole herd.  His personality is bubbling with excitment and energy.  Everyone loves Dane.  He is the chairman of our "welcoming committee" and invites everyone to come and pet him and give him a treat.  Dane has to work on his leadership skills -- he is much better at being a follower.  He also needs to work out a little bit more! Dane's name is derived from Scandinavia and it means "God is my Judge."

Adena is one of our youngest horses -- her name means "tender delicate one" in Hebrew.  She was in need of lots of groceries when she first came to Eagles' Wings.  Her ability to connect on a very personal level with girls has made her even more captivating.  She is fun loving and smart.  Adena is a strawberry roan racking horse (she is very fast when allowed to be.) Adena loves everyone.  And we all love her.

Asia (polish for Yahweh is gracious)is the oldedst horse in our herd  (ripe old age of 10) she takes no stuff from anyone.  She is a great teacher to all our girls.  She is proud and pretty and loves all the attention she gets -- which is a lot!!  Asia loves to swim and hang out with her boyfriend Caesar.  (eating fits in there somewhere as well)  We love her sassy attitude and her sweet, gentle ways.   Asia's name also means "resurrection."

Kiah & Siamese "Sozo" are inseparable felines.  Both are about the same age and have been the caring kitty team for all the girls.  Wherever we go on the ranch -- you can find one or both of them following behind to help make sure everything is ok.  Kiah's name is short for Hezekiah (King of Judah) and Sozo means healing salvation.
