Welcome To Eagles' Wings Girls
Eagles’ Wings Educational Girls Home is a faith-based, non-profit, 501©(3) that has been working with teenage girls in the Eastern Panhandle of WV as well as the surrounding tri-state area for over a decade now. Since the late 1990’s, Eagles’ Wings has focused on serving young girls through education and facilitation.
Our techniques are simple: girls, God & horses. Using biblical principles and teaching “the horse language” other wise known as “horse whispering” girls learn to be an effective communicator and a better listener. Learning about horses from the ground up teaches girls to focus and develop much needed virtues in their lives (as outlined in Galatians 5:22) “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Applying horse whispering techniques and nurturing the tougher virtues (patience, faithfulness and self-control) challenge girls to recognize and work on negative behaviors and responses. Recognizing her own personal “stuff” helps her to work on becoming softer and more gentle in areas of her life that would usually cause her to give a quick response or negative reaction.
We have several incredible programs designed to help each girl reach for her dreams and become all that God has designed for her to be. Each program uses vital principles to help establish good healthy relationships and boundaries. Girls are able to communicate and listen to “what is really being said” with people and horses through evaluation techniques used in the language of the horse. The amazing thing about learning to “horse whisper” is that you also learn to be a “people whisperer” as well.
Our staff and program design help each young girl be aware and conscious of life and words. We take each opportunity as a serious commission from the Lord to introduce girls to an incredible world of horses and to teach the depth and unconditional love of the Father through His majestic creatures.
